Sally Groom

Sally Groom is an emerging art writer interested in the social and political potential of art collections and exhibitions. She thinks the best art writing is accessible and enjoyable as well as rigorous and politically engaged. In a former life as an art conservator, she had the opportunity to consult with designers and architects at Melbourne Museum during planning and building phases, and to travel with the Spirit Country collection of Indigenous art to the Shanghai International Festival and to the international outdoor Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial in Japan. More recently Sally studied art history at Adelaide and Melbourne Universities.  She works as an invigilator at the Geelong Gallery, and an arts advocate through the Surf Coast Arts council.
